Robins have been working hard with their recycling topic this week. They have decided to call themselves ‘Recycling Robins’ and also the ‘The Lovely Litter Pickers!!’ They have worked enthusiastically as a green team and went out into the school grounds and Birch Road to pick up litter. They were delighted to find that our school grounds had very little, if any litter, but were amazed at what they found outside of the school gates! I also had to share a piece of writing from home telling the Christmas story… well deserving of two golden house points!! Well done Robins- you are all just fantastic!
Larks have been learning about the inspiring life of Mary Seacole. Take a look at some of their portraits … what talents they have and some awesome adjectives too to describe such a wonderfully inspiring lady.
Swifts went outside once again in their maths this week to enjoy a giant mountain hunt! They had to follow a coordinate map of St Mary’s to find the correct mountain and solve the missing mountains from the list. The children also enjoyed a creative lesson in their RE this week designing Jesse tree symbols to represent the family of Jesus. Wonderful!
Take a look at the amazing artwork from Owls class.. so powerful; linked so creatively to our anti- bullying awareness week in school. Well done Owls- your artwork really is moving.
Some super science investigations going on too.. the children taught me a thing or two about the composition of blood and the important role it plays in transporting nutrients, hormones, oxygen and anti- bodies around the body. Owls now have their own blood bank in the classroom too!!
