This week Robins and Wrens have had a family week thinking about their family and how they belong to the God’s family. We have made our family using playdough and even printed our family. As lots of us talked about going to the park with our families, Little Wrens had a visit to the park on Wednesday for their Nursery adventure. On Tuesday we had our first PE session with coach Josh, we all thought it was lots of fun. Look out next week for some treasure and pirate fun! Oooh ar!
In maths Larks have been doing lots of work on mass. We have used balances to find items that are heavier, lighter and equal and enjoyed taking our maths lessons outdoors. We had great fun in PE carrying objects with our partners without using our hands! We had to work well together as a team to do this. In our science we have been researching a habitat and we are making a model of it. We have been very busy indeed!
This week in the Swifts, we discussed the importance of our world and how God made our world to help us to thrive and grow in his image. Sophia led a beautiful liturgical prayer linking to our theme of ‘Giving thanks.’ The children created prayers inspired by the scripture read to them by the liturgical prayer leaders. Using their prayers, the children came together to create our world and read their prayers aloud, thanking God for what we have and what he has created for us.
This week we have been measuring force using a Newton meter. We observed that objects have a smaller downward force in water than in air and used our prior learning in science to attempt to explain why. Just look at the expression on Barnaby’s face… fantastic!
