Robins and Wrens have had another wonderful week… I feel so fortunate to be able to spend time with them each week on their outdoor adventure and also spend time talking to the children in their new outdoor area. They were inspired by Morrison’s ‘Seeds of Hope’ and have spent this week exploring art in the style of Van Gogh as well as making links to their maths measures too. Look how tall their sunflower is!!
Larks have been busy designing their Teepees this week- linking to their Native American topic. A new topic we introduced when we redefined our curriculum offer and they are loving it!! It is also lovely to see more outdoor learning this week in their maths- telling the time and using natural objects to make their own clock faces. Wonderful.
What a gorgeous week the Swifts have had enjoying the great outdoors!
We started the week learning how light travels, changes direction and reflects off objects. The class put their knowledge to the test and built periscopes. They explored the ideas of reflection and light really well and were thrilled when their periscopes worked!
We also have began observing and tracking our potato progression in science to see whether light is always the best source for survival and growth.
We also had a capacity and volume challenge in teams! As you can see, the class did a tremendous job tracking their scores using ml! They also enjoyed adding the litres and ml together to find out who the winners were!
