Wrens and Robins have explored the great outdoors this week and put their sorting skills to work! They were able to collect and sort so many autumn leaves using colour, size and texture. They also has quite a challenge in building the 3 pigs a new home. I wonder what materials they used? Some super science links… well done boys and girls.
Larks are impressing both Mr Dougall and I with their partitioning skills. They are exploring numbers in a variety of ways both indoors and outdoors and enjoyed the candle and icing challenge Mr Dougall set up for them. I wonder if they can tell you all about it and the value of the candle and pom pom?
This week in the Swifts, the class have been learning all about the formation of rocks and we had a go making our very own sedimentary rocks! The class really enjoyed eroding the digestives and laying different types of rocks and compacting them down with marshmallows.
The class also shared their thoughts and ideas about families when we make wrong choices such as in the story of Jacob stealing Esau’s blessing. The children recounted the scripture beautifully through performance and script writing.
Owls have been learning how the Anglo Saxons and Vikings came to Britain in longships. We designed and made our own longships.
In science we planned and designed our own scientific enquiries to find out which materials were electrical conductors. Amazing team work! Children really are becoming independent scientists, using and applying prior knowledge to further their learning.
star this week is Toby. Incredible attitude to learning but seen wonderful kindness towards his peers too. Golden Broom – Harmony & Mary – washing up after our art session.
