Around School 7th January 2022

7th January 2022 By lesleyannbox

Welcome back everybody… we have had a lovely first week back. Here is a selection of photos from across the school over this first 3 days. A super start to the term…

Wrens and Robins have  been exploring the ice and snow in relation to our storybook of the week “Say Hello to the Snowy Animals,” where we have learnt about different Arctic animals. We enjoyed exploring the ice outside and using our problem solving skills to crack and break it, we also experimented with ways of melting the ice using salt and warm water.

Larks have been making the most of their morning minutes as soon as they’ve come back and impressed me with how organised and independent they all were with their ‘morning motor tasks. Nice work Larks!!

Swifts have been enjoying their core text this term ‘Oliver Twist’ and worked collaboratively to create their story maps to begin their retelling. Very creative Swifts and super team work too.

Owls performed the most beautiful liturgical dance for the school on Friday.  The dance linked beautifully to our theme of the Epiphany, celebrated on Thursday. I am sure they’ve shared the routine with you at home! If not, I am going to record it on Monday as I have asked them to perform it again in front of the whole staff as they simply can’t miss out! The dance was to ‘Love Shone Down’ by Boyce and Stanley.
